I don’t really need to say a dog’s life, do I? Too late!
This is how pups are treated at the lovely Mandarin Oriental Miami, which is downtown but perched on a tiny island in the bay, with its own man-made beach. Don’t you love the little gold fan collar tag? (Winnie is totes coveting one.)
As well as the collar tag, MO Miami pets (like Jennifer Aniston’s late terrier Norman, who lived here with Jen during the filming of Marley & Me) get the use of a pet bed, Miami-style bowls, treats and their own turndown service. Yes, there are also in-room dining options for dogs—but, like most dog owners, I like to keep my Win on her regular food, so I tend to ignore those menus.
The hotel offers free dog walking, once daily, and there’s a great 1.3 mile path circling Brickell Key, so walking your own pup is actually a pleasure.
Doggie Deets: Dogs under 30 pounds only. There is a $200 deposit, $100 of which is refunded at the end of your stay—if your dog hasn’t eaten the wallpaper and cushions.
